Silence
They had nothing to say to each other.
It was not the first time.
It will not be the last.
They sat, avoiding each others' eyes.
Both feeling guilty.
Neither was truly innocent.
They each wondered what the other was thinking.
Neither, daring to ask.
Both not making a sound.
They felt the history they had together.
It is what makes them want to leave.
It is what keeps them here.
